Metal Clasps

All of the clasps are made out of metal

These clasps are traditionally used on heavy wool cardigans. Since not everyone lives in wool cardigan land, people use them for other purposes. They work well as a closure on something that wants to stay closed, but needs a bit of encouragement-- for example: sweaters, loose jackets, cloaks. They should not be used in applications where there is tension that is pulling them apart as it may bend the hook part (for example they wouldn't be good as overall closures).

They are shiny when they are new. Over time, they will darken up as they tarnish. The Darkness actually highlights the designs in the clasps.

Measurements given are the total length when the two clasps are hooked together.

This first grouping are on the smaller size. Very ornate when used on a shirt down the front placket.
