Jacquard Fabric Paints
This is a high quality fabric paint with nice colors. It is suitable for natural or synthetic fibers. It is as non-stiffening as they come, but will change the hand of the fabric. They can be used at full strength or diluted up to 20% with water. These paints are semi-opaque, so they should not be used on dark colored fabrics. (If you are working on dark colored fabrics you should use the Neopaque paints-- they are toward the end of this page) To obtain a more transparent look, add the coloreless extender. Allow the paint to dry, then heatset with an iron on the backside for 30 seconds at a temperature appropriate for the fabric.. Jacquard Textile Colors are fully intermixable to form nearly any color. They also mix beautifully with Lumiere,Neopaque, and Dye-Na-Flow. Make your own metallics! Jacquard Textile Colors are a great medium for Pearl Ex Powders.
NeopaqueThese paints are specifically designed to be used on dark fabrics and still retain their color. In order to acheive that opacity, they are a bit thicker than the traditional fabric paints.Mixing Colors: Jacquard Neopaque comes in 13 and you can easily mix them to make any color you desire. Creating Pastels: You can mix #589 Neopaque White into any other Neopaque color to create pastels. Try mixing in a little at first and then adding more if you want to increase the effect. Increasing Transparency: You can increase the transparency of any color by the Flowable Extender to it. The more you add the more transparent the color will be. Increasing Transparency & Flowability: You can increase both transparency and flowability by adding up to 25% water. This will give you more of a watercolor effect. If you add more than 25% water you will lose some of the washability of these paints. They also mix beautifully with Lumiere, Textile Colors, and Dye-Na-Flow. Neopaque Colorless Extender is an excellent medium for Pearl Ex Powders. Adding Pearl Ex to the other Neopaque colors will result in a muted metallic effect due to the opaque nature of the paints.
Lumiere and NeopaqueThese are beautiful thin bodied metalic and pearlescent colors. They have the capability to be a fabric paint (will withstand washing) but are also useful as a regular acrylic paint (for wood, paper, leather etc.). On fabric, they should be heat set with a dry iron or with heat. After being set they are washable or drycleanable. The colors are opaque and bright even on dark backgrounds.
Add Hi-Lite colors for subtle, reflective, opalescent effects and super sparkle for extra glitter. Super smooth Lumiere and Neopaque colors glide onto any surface when airbrushed or hand painted with a soft brush, and may also be screened, stamped, stenciled, marbled or printed The Neopaque line is formulated to remain true to color on dark fabrics. They are slightly thicker than the regular fabrics paints.
A little editorial comment here: These colors are absolutely amazing. They are not glittery, but rather a smooth shimmery metallic.
It is impossible to translate them to a computer screen, or any printed color chart. When you combine what you are seeing here with your idea of what a beautiful metallic is you will probably be close to the actual color.
PS. The Hi-Light colors are interferance paints. They are a clear base a color that shows up when the light hits them just right. Perfect as a subtle accent.
