Swatch Policy--
We know that sometimes you need to see the exact color of a fabic, or feel it to know if it will work. Swatches are the fabric stores answer to that problem. Swatches are small pieces (normally around 1" x 2") that we can provide. On large prints, you will only get a portion of the total design, but when you combine that with the pictures and info on our website you should have a pretty complete picture. We can send you up to 5 swatches at no cost. If you are interested, use our handy swatch request form.

Note: There is a 1/2yd minimum cut for each fabric. After that you can buy in 1/4yd increments. Orders under 1/2 yard will automatically be increased to the minimum.

This is a specially coated vinyl which acts like a chalkboard. Use regular chalkboard chalk to draw or write on it.
This simple yet functional product has a superior writing surface upon which chalk glides and holds well. It is completely reusable.
Is the ChalkclothTMready to use?
Before using the Chalkcloth™ it is recommended to "season" its surface by rubbing the side of a piece of chalk (the common type made from calcium carbonate not the clay variety used by artists or the dustfree style - it has a polished surface which may scratch the Chalkcloth™) across the whole surface, side to side, top to bottom. Then wipe off the chalk with a soft cloth or a dry sponge. Repeat process again. The Chalkcloth™ is now "cured" and ready for years of enjoyment.
How do I care for my ChalkclothTM?
You must store ChalkclothTMrolled. If you fold it, you will crack the coating which makes it accept chalk. To clean it use a chalkboard eraser. After many uses you may get a haze that won't go away. Use a damp sponge and soft dry cloth to renew the surface. Never use solvent type cleaners. Never use solvent type cleaners containing acetone or methyl ethyl ketone.
What can I do with ChalkclothTM?
Put it anywhere you want a non-permanent chalkboard. Some ideas-- put it on a table, a wall, a door, pull it out when the grandkids come over. It can be attached to a hard surface with a vinyl compatible adhesive, staple gun, little nails or tacks. Because it is supported with a mesh backing it can be cut and sewn.
How wide, how much?
ChalkclothTM is 47" wide and costs $10.69 per yard. Fabric is sold by the running yard. If you purchase one yard of oilcloth you will be sent a piece that is 36" by 47". We also sell the chalkcloth by the 18 yard roll for $173.18 (you save 10% over buying individual yards)
