Hemp is wonderful for many reasons. It is a very strong fiber (which would be the reason they used it for rope in the olden days) which is holds up well when exposed to sun and moisture. It is more rot and mold resistant than cotton or linen. Cultivating the plan actually improves the condition of the ground making it an ideal crop to use in rotation. It can be dyed very well using fiber reactive dyes. (We sell Procion Dyes which will dye hemp as well as cotton, rayon or linen.) These twines are from Romanian hemp which tends to be processed using fewer chemicals that hemp from China. Natural colored Twine- waxed These twines are the natural just off white color. Dyed unwaxed Twine This is unwaxed 20# test twine, about 1mm in diameter. These colors are all deep and saturated. This hemp twine is hand dyed by a woman in the Pacific Northwest. Because it is hand done there is some variation in color-- from batch to batch, but also on the skein. It is always beautiful though. Each 10 yard skein is $2.49.

Dyed Varigated Unwaxed Twine This is the same twine as in the solid skeins, but this time is dyed in multiple colors so that the colors just melt into each other. The ball looks amazing, so if you don't feel like knotting with it, you can use it as a comment attracting centerpiece for your table. 25 yard balls, $7.79
Hemp Knitting Yarn This is a 2-ply worsted weight yarn for knitting that is 55% hemp and 45% wool. approx 200 yards per skein. It is suggested that you use a size US7 (4.5mm) needle. The gauge is 20ST/4". $6.39/skein
Natural Hemp Cord-
This cord is about 1/4" in diameter, braided like the drawstring cord you find in your sweatpants(not twisted like a rope). It is the natural tanish grey color of unbleached hemp. Great for drawstings, purse straps, can be braided or woven with itself or other things. Sold in 5 yard increments. 5 yards/$4.50
