Procion Mx dye for Natural Fibers

A few things you should know--

  • Dyes are transparent. Consider the color you are starting with when choosing your dye color. If you start with a shirt that is red and dye it blue, you will send up with a purple shirt.
  • Not all fibers are created equally. Your results may vary. But it may end up being wonderful!
  • These cold water dyes are appropriate for cotton, linen, rayon or hemp.
  • These dyes are very versatile. Use them for tie-dye,immersion dying, batik or thicken them to use them as a paint.
  • Don't forget the soda ash! That is the setting agent.
  • Are you tie-dying with squeeze bottles? Add Urea for brigher colors!
  • For silk or wool-- use Acid Dyes
  • Need something quick and easy-- try IDye for natural fibers
